and Tips for Core Studies 1
This
paper consists of 20 questions, one for each of the core studies. The paper will
be split up into the five section headings (cognitive, developmental,
physiological etc.). For each section there are four questions (one on
each of the studies). Two of the questions will be worth 4 marks and two
will be worth 2 marks.

Always read the questions carefully. Examiners note that students often lose marks because they did not answer the question being asked because it was misread.

Don't waste time re-writing the question as part of your answer.

Read through what you have written.

You can answer the questions you are most confident about first. Then go back and answer all the other questions. Make sure you write something for every question. Often a guess will pick up at least one mark.

Be sure to note how many marks go with each question. Some are 2 marks and others are worth 4.

Pace yourself. You have one hour to get 60 marks. This means you should spend about a minute and a half on each 2 mark question.
